Food is such an integral part of our lives.  If we cannot coexist in a nourishing and peaceful relationship, our own potential is diminished.  However, real health is achieved by balancing all the areas of our lives, and is a lifelong endeavor.

I Know How You Feel

My name is Tara Petite, and I’m a wellness coach for compassionate health-seekers who want to align their values and food choices, be the author of their own health and wellness story, and prioritize feeling nourished in mind, body & spirit.  In 2005 I began my own wellness journey, slowly releasing over a 100 pounds of weight, aligning my values with my food choices and gaining invaluable knowledge along the way.  In 2015, I completed my graduate degree in Health and Wellness Coaching from The Maryland University of Integrative Health, which further inspired me to apply my experience to helping others along their unique paths.  As long-term vegan myself, having overcome my own health challenges and dietary roadblocks and raising three children in a meat-centered world, I enjoy supporting fellow balance-seekers that want to:

  • “Eat like they give a damn,” and find balance with food without dieting, unsustainable routines, or feeling “restricted” in their lifestyle choices.
  • Shift their mindset to one of abundance, rather than the restrictive “I can’t have that, it’s not vegan” mentality.
  • Take ownership of their dietary and lifestyle choices with purpose and intention, redefining nourishment to encompass mind, body and spirit.
  • AND, create a community of like-minded people with whom to share their journey.

Because, when you feed yourself consciously and with a focus on compassion, your self-worth, relationships and spiritual connection will reflect that intention, giving deeper purpose to your choices!

By the time our co-creative venture is done, you will feel more in alignment with your ideals, poised as an advocate for yourself and animals, armed with a strong belief in the possibility of change. You will have gained a greater understanding of the spectrum of nourishment, of which, food is just a small part. During our initial session, I will gather information about your history, current lifestyle, and general health goals. We will spend some time formulating a realistic vision of your best self and how you can take manageable steps towards this vision.

In our follow up sessions, we will explore your coaching focus, whatever you choose it to be, creating a purposeful path towards your health and wellness or lifestyle goals. My approach is one of relaxed accountability. I am not here to offer all the answers, but, rather, to ask questions that prompt awareness within yourself. I am here to create a comfortable environment for you to explore your challenges, while gently reminding you of your intentions and helping you stay focused on your goals.

After our initial consultation, if you think working with me is something you would like to do, we can discuss how often, and for how long might be most beneficial.  I can work with you in person, over the phone or via the Internet.

Initial consultations are 45 to 90 minutes, and follow-ups are 45 to 60 minutes.



As a long-term vegan, raw food enthusiast, and animal advocate, I specialize in helping to facilitate awareness and compassionate choices for those interested in transitioning to a plant-based lifestyle.  This can include discussion of dietary philosophy, nutritional support, grocery store tour, pantry “audit,” and general support for including more vegan, or raw food, into your routine



Your introductory session is free.  If you choose to work with me, subsequent session are $50/session.
